ARC Raiders Pauses Expeditions Until Early 2027 After the Fifth Run

Embark Studios confirmed the fifth ARC Raiders Expedition will be the last one players see until early 2027. The official announcement sets the run from September 8 at 1pm CEST through September 29 at 10am CEST, stretching the usual two-week window to three and letting players opt to keep their quest progress instead of the automatic reset that followed every prior Expedition.

The fifth run drops its "Last Call" grace period for late signups and keeps the reward track largely intact: a complete Zenith Outfit, Mystery Rewards, up to 12 additional stash slots capped at 60 total, as many as 15 bonus skill points with catch-up mechanics for returning players, and consecutive XP and material buffs capped at three stacks.

Embark framed the pause that follows as a response to complaints the studio said it can't patch around. "Some of the issues you've raised need more than incremental fixes," the team wrote. "They call for bigger changes." The studio named tight departure windows, the reward structure, and accessibility for new players as the specific targets, and confirmed earned buffs carry over through the hiatus while unfinished Caravan progress converts to Ermal Vouchers. The timing also clears the runway for Frozen Trail, the update tied to the Subway crossover Embark announced last week, which launches October 8 without a competing Expedition window for the first time.

Reaction has split along familiar lines. Posts on X leaned hostile toward the delay, while the ARC Raiders subreddit read more cautious than angry, with players split between relief that Embark is addressing a grind many called unrewarding and frustration from those who liked Expeditions as they were. The friction isn't new: an earlier community challenge tied to the Forgotten Relics event in June's 1.33.0 update already pointed at the same restrictive windows players are now asking Embark to fix.

I read the mixed reaction as proof Embark waited too long to decide between two incompatible fixes. I'd argue a studio can tune numbers indefinitely or rebuild a system once, but trying both at the same time is what left players unsure whether this pause solves anything or just delays the same argument.

The fifth Expedition runs its three weeks starting September 8, and after that, Embark has until early 2027 to show its redesign was worth the wait.
