Insert Coin Might Have Spoiled That Ada Wong Will Return In Resident Evil Requiem’s DLC
It has been quite a while since Capcom officially confirmed that they are working on a story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem—yet no official details have been revealed to date. According to numerous unconfirmed reports, the expansion will feature the return of many familiar faces—one of whom will be Ada Wong—and a new rumor is only adding fuel to the fire in this regard.
This time, it was Insert Coin—the company that produces official merchandise based on the franchise—that may have let slip the news of Ada Wong’s appearance in the Resident Evil Requiem DLC. As users on X have pointed out, in a post that has since been edited, Insert Coin mentioned several hashtags in the context of Resident Evil 9—in addition to mentioning Leon and Raccoon City, they also brought up Ada Wong. It’s quite possible that this can be seen as yet another unofficial confirmation that Ada Wong will feature in some capacity in the story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, as you can check out below:
Insert Coin may have accidentally teased something related to Leon and Ada in Resident Evil Requiem.
The Chinese division of Insert Coin, a company that produces officially licensed video game clothing and merchandise, teased a new Resident Evil Requiem collection celebrating the franchise's 30th anniversary.
The interesting part was the hashtags used in the original announcement: Leon, AdaWong, LeonAda, RaccoonCity, ResidentEvil9.
However, earlier today, the official account removed all mentions of Ada Wong from the hashtags, replacing them with just LeonSKennedy.
Whether the original hashtags were simply a mistake or an accidental hint remains unclear, but their quick removal after the post went viral definitely makes the situation more interesting.
For now, there is no official confirmation of Ada Wong appearing in Resident Evil Requiem DLC.
Previously, the reliable insider group Team Biohazard confirmed that the story DLC for Resident Evil will feature not only Ada Wong, but also Leon S. Kennedy, Alyssa Ashcroft, and Claire Redfield; meanwhile, according to Dusk Golem, the story expansion is set to be released in 2027, following the release of Resident Evil Veronica. Furthermore, he reported that Capcom plans to create large-scale DLC for new Resident Evil games —including remakes and brand-new installments—so their development may take longer than fans would like.
Resident Evil Veronica, the franchise’s next installment, is confirmed to release next year for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The release date for Resident Evil Requiem’s story DLC is currently unknown.
