Sandfall Interactive Revealed Studio’s Next Project Will Be “A Bit Crazy”

Following the staggering success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, arguably the best game of 2025, it's been revealed Sandfall Interactive is already working on its next project. No official details have been shared yet, but the studio's head recently teased something even wilder than the last entry.

Guillaume Broche, founder, CEO, and creative director of Sandfall Interactive, recently spoke with Automaton and was, of course, asked about the studio's next project. Without going into specifics, Broche claimed the team hopes to bring the same passion to this project that they brought to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and described the new game as "a bit crazy." “It’s too early to say anything precise, but we had a lot of fun creating Expedition 33, and it’s a game that we all love internally, so we want to find this flame, this passion again for the next project.

Expedition 33 was quite a long project too. Especially for me, it was six years. For Tom it was five and a half, and for most of the other members it was between four and five years. That’s also why we want to let ourselves dream again and be creative again. We’re going to go a bit crazy.”

Broche has previously stated he wouldn't be too worried if Sandfall's next game turned out to be a flop, since the team is making a game, they themselves genuinely want to enjoy.

Last month, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also picked up yet another Game of the Year award, this time at the Develop:Star Awards 2026, cementing its status as the undisputed record-holder with a total of 437 such awards to its name.
