Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Gets Another GOTY Award at Develop:Star Awards 2026

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, arguably the best video game of 2025, has racked up more than 400 awards over the 12-plus months since its release. More than half of 2026 has already passed, and Sandfall Interactive's title is still picking up new ones—including a fresh "Best Game" nomination.

The results of the 2026 Develop:Star Awards were just announced, and what set this ceremony apart is that developers themselves picked the best games of the past year. No surprise, then, that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 received the most wins (3)—Best Narrative, Best Audio, and, of course, Best Game. You can check out the full results below:

Winning another “Game of the Year” category for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 means the game now has 437 of such awards, setting an absolute record in the category and beating out Elden Ring (435), The Last of Us Part II (326), Baldur's Gate III (288), and many more. It was also recently revealed the game has sold 8 million copies across all platforms, and Sandfall Interactive CEO Guillaume Broche confirmed the studio is already working on a new project. He added that the developers aren’t worried about potential failure —they just want to make something they themselves enjoy.
