The Legend of Zelda Movie: New Cast Members Announced
Alongside The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Remake), announced this June, the franchise is set to expand further with a full-length film based on the series. As we know, filming wrapped back in the spring, and the cast has largely stayed undercover since—but new names have now surfaced.
A new Deadline report has revealed several members of The Legend of Zelda cast and the characters they will play. It’s now confirmed that Uli Latukefu, previously seen in Alien: Covenant and Black Adam, will play the film's main antagonist, Ganondorf. Dichen Lachman is reportedly playing a bodyguard and advisor to Princess Zelda, while Yvonne Strahovski will play a queen whose name hasn't been disclosed yet. The film will also be the late Sam Neill's final role —he managed to film his scenes before passing away last month, though the character he played is currently unknown.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (Link) and Bo Bragason (Princess Zelda) lead the cast in The Legend of Zelda movie adaptation, with Wes Ball, known for The Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, serving as the director. The movie premieres on April 30, 2027.
As for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Remake), the latest rumors suggest the game will launch this November, just a week before GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (November 19). It's also recently come out that the Nintendo title is actually 2026's most anticipated game, ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, based on metrics like trailer views and article count.
