Not GTA 6: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Is the Most Anticipated Game of 2026 by Trailer Views and Article Count

For most players, there is no doubt that GTA 6 is the most anticipated game of 2026—Rockstar Games' next, and likely biggest, project yet. But recent data shows a completely different title actually holds the top spot in the rankings, with GTA 6 notably missing from the list for pretty understandable reasons.

The Game Business has published a new report, citing LevelUp Analytics, listing the most anticipated games of 2026 based on two metrics: trailer views and article count. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Remake) takes the top spot in both categories—hardly surprising, since game series titles typically draw massive attention from Nintendo's fanbase and are known for being expansive, high-quality products. In the most-viewed rankings, second through fifth place go to Marvel's Wolverine, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. By article count, the top five alongside Ocarina of Time Remake include The Blood of Dawnwalker, Marvel's Wolverine, Gears of War: E-Day, and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. You can check out both full rankings below:

GTA 6's absence from these lists shouldn't be a surprise, given Rockstar hasn't shared any new info on the game this year—the new trailer or gameplay reveal. The one exception was June, when the studio opened pre-orders for the Standard and Ultimate editions, along with pre-order bonuses and new screenshots. However, according to reliable insider NateTheHate, that's about to change—he's repeatedly claimed GTA 6 will finally get showcased this month.

The Game Awards material also includes a few other rankings. Per GameDiscoverCo, the three most wishlisted Steam games are Phantom Zero Blade (1.62 million), The Blood of Dawnwalker (1.47 million), and Onimusha: Way of the Sword (1.18 million). Among major upcoming projects, Control Resonant stands out in fifth place with 984,000 wishlists. Meanwhile, Gears of War: E-Day, despite ranking in the top five by article count, surprisingly sits as low as seventeenth on the wishlist chart. Silent Hill: Townfall, another September release, doesn't even make the top 20.
