Capcom Reported That Resident Evil Veronica Has Been Added to Wishlists 2 Million Times

Resident Evil Veronica, a remake of the original 2000 game, is one of the most highly anticipated titles set for release next year. And to show just how much people are looking forward to it, Capcom has shared a round number reflecting how often it's been wishlisted across platforms.

On its official social media, the studio announced Resident Evil Veronica has passed 2 million wishlist adds across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. That's another sign of just how excited fans are for new entries in the series, following Resident Evil Requiem's stunning success earlier this year. Pre-orders aren't open yet, but it's entirely possible the remake could break several records once they are.

Resident Evil Veronica can possibly be the most ambitious remake in the franchise's history. It's being developed by the same team behind the Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes, and it's been revealed Rockfort Island will be a full sandbox with new areas and secrets —players will even be able to explore it by motorbike. There are also reports Capcom wants to tie the game's events into Resident Evil Requiem, with rumors even pointing to a cameo appearance from Leon S. Kennedy, who was only mentioned via an email in the original title.

Capcom has confirmed the company will attend Gamescom 2026 later this month, but according to the latest info, Resident Evil Veronica won't be part of the show —there aren't even plans for a closed-door presentation. The remake is currently set for release in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, though the exact release date remains unknown.
