Insider Claims That GTA 6 Will Be “A Very, Very Long Game”
Even with less than four months to go before GTA 6 launches, Rockstar Games is still in no rush to share new details about the most anticipated video game of 2026. That is especially striking given it's been over a year since the latest trailer was released. No wonder players are paying closer and closer attention to leaks and insider reports that might reveal some new information about the game.
This time, well-known gaming interviewer Kiwi Talkz, who recently spoke with Reforge Gaming, may have dropped some new info on GTA 6’s duration. He's known for staying in touch with plenty of former developers, including people who once worked at Rockstar Games itself. Take this as a rumor for now, but during the conversation, Kiwi Talkz stated that GTA 6 will be a "very, very long game," adding that he doesn't even have a rough sense of how long it will take to finish the game. You can check out a brief summary of the interview, compiled by Reddit user uniquecartridge, below:
Kiwi Talkz: GTA VI is a "very, very long game"
Take this with a huuuuge grain of salt, this is just a small bit of hopium for those of us who wished for a longer campaign for GTA VI
During a recent livestream with Reforge Gaming Kiwi Talkz noted that GTA VI will take a long time to beat.
55:53"The plan is when GTA VI drops, and after I've finished it and they've finished it, I will do a review panel with some of the former devs that worked on GTA V... I've gotta find time to finish this thing and even I'm gonna struggle with it 'cause it's a very, very long game."
1:10:26"GTA VI, I've no idea how many hours I'm gonna put into that thing, just for the single-player" (Note: he's being hyperbolic; means "a lot of hours," not literal uncertainty)
For context, they were discussing price-to-playtime correlation in recent games and how it becomes intimidating to play a 100 hour game as you get older
This might be just a safe assumption but keep in mind, Kiwi gets a lot of BTS info from beyond his game dev interview podcast, he specifically mentioned knowing people who work at Rockstar India.
EDIT:
- Some of you really don't understand what a post flaired as "Grain of Salt" means. This isn't a leak or a rumour, just a quote of an offhand comment Kiwi made. You can just ignore these kinda posts if you don't like 'em.
- There's no need to dogpile on Kiwi cause he's "unreliable", duh, we know. Always the same story, some of y'all want every insider banned. If it was up to some we'd only be allowed to post Jason Schreier and Nate here lol. Go vote in the Leaker Tier List if he's that bad.
- He's specifically talking about beating the campaign in order to assemble a review panel with former R* devs so no this isn't just "big open world game is long". Would love to hear him clarify the info tho.

As it is known, players needed up to 55 hours to finish all the main and side content in GTA 5 and around 120 hours in Red Dead Redemption 2—and given that GTA 6 is shaping up to be an even bigger project, it's not unreasonable to think finishing everything could take more than 150 hours. That would be a wild prospect for fans, and it would also help explain why development of the game has been so long. Recently, another leak surfaced and revealed possible details of GTA 6's main story, especially its first parts, and some additional information about GTA 6 Trailer 3, but like the others before it, it's not confirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt.
For now, you can also find out everything we know about GTA 6 so far—the story, gameplay, map, open world, platforms, and more - as well as how GTA 6 is reshaping the 2026 game calendar and everything about GTA 6 pre-order details: price, bonuses, exact time, and Ultimate Edition.
Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
