Insider Revealed New Details of Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe and Confirmed Connection to Black Flag Resynced

Following the massive success of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, released on July 9 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, rumors have surfaced about a possible connection between the remake and Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe—the next mainline game in the series, announced back in 2022. While these were only speculations until recently, they have now been confirmed by a reliable insider and Ubisoft leaker.

On his X page, well-known insider Rogue shared several new details about Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe and confirmed the game's connection to Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. In particular, he posted a partial photo believed to be a teaser; although the image is of low quality, you can make out the silhouette of an assassin and notice a rather dark atmosphere. He also mentioned that the parkour in the game will resemble that of the classic entries in the series but may include some elements from Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Unsure what this is but some left over Teaser photo

But what's even more fascinating is his statement about the church. Rogue confirms it will play a key role in the storyline. In case you missed it, this refers to the church that players recently discovered in the Animus files of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, where you can also spot various structures from previous games in the franchise. Some users in the comments asked for clarification, wondering if this was what he meant, and Rogue confirmed that Black Flag Resynced does indeed contain a teaser for Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe.

So the Church is actually a key part for the story somehow

It's been nearly four years since Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe was announced, and Ubisoft has not shared any new official information about the game since the teaser was revealed. Earlier, there were reports that the game might be showcased at Gamescom 2026, scheduled for next month. Considering that a new Codename Hexe teaser was recently found in Black Flag Resynced, and that rumors suggest the game could launch next summer, this timing seems quite logical.

Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe is confirmed to be in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with its release date remaining unknown. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is available now on the same platforms.
