Sony Will Appear at Comic-Con and Reveal Marvel's Wolverine, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and God of War Laufey

As you may know, the next Comic-Con will take place in San Diego at the end of July (23-26), with Marvel Studios, Disney, Apple TV+, HBO Max, and Nintendo already confirmed to take part. Additionally, it has been announced that Sony will also be involved in the event and has confirmed it will showcase three upcoming video games, including two future PlayStation 5 exclusives.

On the official PlayStation website, Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed it will reveal video games such as Marvel's Wolverine, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and God of War Laufey at San Diego Comic-Con, which takes place from July 23 to July 26. The company also revealed what fans can expect from its presentations. From 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM PT, developers from Insomniac Games—including Creative Director Marcus Smith, Game Director Mike Daly, Narrative Director Walt Williams, and Senior Project Director Jess Reiner-Reed—as well as actors and producers, will share new details about Marvel's Wolverine and present behind-the-scenes footage covering the game's development, characters, and exclusive, never-before-seen content. Following that will be a 45-minute presentation on MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, where the creators will discuss the game's development and, reportedly, make some unexpected announcements. Finally, PlayStation will close the mini-presentations with God of War Laufey, a new PlayStation 5 exclusive announced last month during State of Play. Confirmed participants include Game Director Ariel Lawrence and Santa Monica Studio Head of Creative Cory Barlog, along with actors Deborah Ann Woll (Laufey) and Christopher Judge (Kratos), who will share insights into the project's development and showcase behind-the-scenes motion capture footage. The God of War Laufey presentation will last one hour, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM PT.

As is already known, Marvel's Wolverine and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls have their release dates set for September 15 and August 6, respectively, which can't be said for God of War Laufey. Previously, there were rumors that the game was scheduled for release in the first half of 2027, and recently Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier stated that the game might be launched in February or March next year. Who knows—perhaps San Diego Comic-Con will be the place where Santa Monica Studio officially announces the release date for God of War Laufey, which is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 5.

San Diego Comic-Con 2026 is confirmed to take place from July 23 to July 26.
