The Elder Scrolls VI Possible Release Window Revealed by Jason Schreier

Last month, The Elder Scrolls VI marked another anniversary— eight years since the game was announced at E3 2018. Surprisingly, after all these years, Bethesda Game Studios has yet to reveal an official release date or any details about the upcoming title. However, according to a recent report, it could still be several years before the game actually launches.

Reliable Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier recently held another Q&A session focused on Microsoft's recent layoffs within the Xbox division. One of the questions was about The Elder Scrolls VI and its potential release date. However, Schreier may have disappointed fans with his reply, stating that the game won't be released within the next two years, and possibly even longer.

This isn't the first time we've heard that The Elder Scrolls VI will probably launch sometime in 2028-2029. Previously, game developer interviewer and insider Reece "Kiwi Talkz" Reilly named these years as a potential release window and suggested that the game's development has been problematic, comparing it to Metroid Prime 4. However, not long ago, Todd Howard, the head of Bethesda Game Studios, confirmed that development on TES VI is still ongoing. Moreover, he claimed that the studio needs more time to get everything right.

Despite the lack of official news, rumors about The Elder Scrolls VI have regularly surfaced. In particular, it has been suggested that the game's events will take place in the regions of Hammerfell and High Rock. Players are expected to be able to visit more than 10 major cities, and sea voyages—similar to the spaceship travel in Starfield—will play a key role in the gameplay.

The Elder Scrolls VI is confirmed to release on PC and Xbox Series X/S. The official release date remains unknown.
