GTA 6 Is the Cheapest Title in the Game Series When Adjusted for Inflation

This week, pre-orders for GTA 6 officially launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. After a series of rumors and leaks, Rockstar Games confirmed that the standard edition of the game is priced at $80, while the Ultimate edition, which includes a variety of additional features, will cost players $100.

Surprisingly, despite its relatively high price, GTA 6 is actually the cheapest game in the franchise—when accounting for inflation, of course. A Reddit user named GiveMeWaterPls conducted an investigation and discovered that the most expensive game in the series is actually GTA 3, with an inflation-adjusted price of $94.28. Following that are GTA 4 at $93.58, GTA: Vice City at $92.40, GTA: San Andreas at $87.76, and GTA 5 at $85.86.

Despite the launch of pre-orders, Rockstar Games has yet to release a new trailer for GTA 6, but fans continue to believe it will happen soon. In the meantime, Brazilian retailers have revealed new details about the game, including aspects of the open world, the ability to switch between Jason and Lucia, and much more.
