American Company Burger Motorsports Announced November 19 Will Be a Day Off Amid GTA 6 Release
It's no secret that GTA 6, as the most anticipated project of 2026, might prompt many players to take time off work or call in sick—a fact even acknowledged by Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick. It seems that as the release date approaches, such instances are only going to rise, especially since one company has already declared November 19th a day off.
This is about Burger Motorsport, an American company specializing in the production of various automotive components and tuning. On their Instagram, the company announced that November 19th will be an official day off in connection with the release of GTA 6. Several key employees had already expressed their intention to take the day off. Therefore, the management decided to give the entire staff the day off to avoid potential difficulties and a shortage of personnel on that particular day. You can check out the official statement from Burger Motorsport below:
To all staff, customers, dealers, and partners,
Burger Motorsports will be observing a temporary company-wide operational pause on Thursday, November 19, 2026.
After reviewing multiple employee scheduling conflicts, management has determined that normal business operations may be impacted due to the release of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Several team members have already notified management that they will be unavailable, unreachable, and/or ‘in Vice City’ for the duration of the day.
As a result, the following departments may experience delays:
- Customer Support
- Order Processing
- Shipping
- Engineering
- Social Media
- General Productivity
Normal business operations are expected to resume once employees have completed their initial exploration, finished at least one mission, and returned to reality.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented cultural event.
Sincerely,
Burger Motorsport Management
It's remarkable how the release of GTA 6 could impact major companies, and Burger Motorsport is likely not the last to announce a day off on November 19. Earlier, there were already speculations about how the game could literally change the world once it launched —examples included an "internet blackout," many students skipping classes, and, quite notably, numerous people missing work. It seems that this long-standing prediction is starting to come true.
As we know, the marketing campaign for GTA 6 is reportedly starting soon, in the coming weeks, and the fans are hopeful Rockstar Games will unveil the new trailer and announce the opening of pre-orders. For now, you can also find out everything we know about GTA 6 so far - the story, gameplay, map, open world, platforms, and more - and also how GTA 6 is reshaping the 2026 game calendar.
Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
