One More Level Delays Valor Mortis Release by a Few Weeks Due to a Packed Schedule In September
During last week's Xbox Games Showcase, the studio One More Level unveiled a new trailer for their upcoming project, Valor Mortis, which explores an alternate version of the Napoleonic Wars. Alongside this reveal, they confirmed that the game will be released on September 24th —the same day as titles like Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall. However, the developers have already made some adjustments to the release plans.
Since September will be packed with game releases, One More Level has decided to postpone Valor Mortis, which will now be released on October 13. You can find the official statement from the developers below:
“Greeting soldiers,
September has become absolutely stacked with incredible looking games. We knew this was a possibility, but when you’re in a Partner Showcase as we were, dates get locked weeks in advance.
We want to give Valor Mortis (and your wallet) some room to breathe.
Therefore, we’ve decided to move our release date to October 13th.
In the meantime, we just launched our Demo on Steam and have been getting loads of feedback. This new date also gives us even more time to improve the game. Try it out, let us know what you think, and we’ll see you in October!”
In addition to the previously mentioned Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall, which both release on the same day (September 24), the first month of autumn also sees the launches of Marvel's Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Against this backdrop, Valor Mortis might have been overshadowed. It seems the developers made a wise decision, given that the release schedule in October is less crowded.
Valor Mortis is a first-person action RPG, featuring soulslike elements, and set during the Napoleonic Wars. However, in this alternate timeline, the threat is also coming from a supernatural plague.

The game will release on October 13 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
