S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Will Receive Patch 2.0 Alongside Cost of Hope DLC

In March of this year, at the Xbox Partners Preview, GSC Game World showcased a new DLC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl titled Cost of Hope, announcing it would be released this summer. Although nearly three months have passed since then, the official release date has yet to be confirmed. However, a recent leak offers some insight into what players can expect in the coming months.

As discovered by a user on X who specializes in news about the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe, the developers' support team accidentally revealed that along with the Cost of Hope expansion, Heart of Chernobyl will receive a major update—Patch 2.0. This patch is expected to be released shortly before the DLC launch and will feature an enhanced version of the game engine. The developers appear to be taking precautions to address any potential technical issues ahead of the Cost of Hope story expansion's release.

Today, a batch of emails were sent from Official Support confirming the release of both Patch 2.0 and Cost of Hope releasing bundled together (or in a short time span between them).

They also confirmed 2.0 is the only major patch planned for Summer, and that there are possibilities the 2.0 update will release a tiny bit prior to the DLC release to fix any unforseen techincial problems.

Later, Support updated their answer that they can not actually give out any official statements and that the information previously relayed are not a "100% guarantee".

Engine Update is, undoubtably, part of the 2.0 Update.

As mentioned in the post above, shortly after the leak, the developers tried to deny the claims, but it seems unlikely that any fans believe them now. The release date for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl DLC, Cost of Hope, remains unknown.
