Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival Appeared At Xbox Games Showcase 2026

Fans were treated to not just one, but two announcements related to Atlus's Persona franchise during Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase. The rumors proved true: Persona 4 Revival, a remake of the original fourth installment, is in the works and preparing for release, while the studio is also developing Persona 6.

Regarding the remake of the fourth installment, the developers have revealed that Persona 4 Revival will be released next year, on February 18, 2027. Additionally, the studio confirmed that this is not just a simple re-release or an enhanced edition like Persona 4 Golden; nearly every element has been completely overhauled from the ground up, including character models, environments, and visual effects. Speaking of Persona 4 Golden, the appearance of Marie in the trailer indicates that content from the enhanced edition will be included in Revival. Furthermore, Steam users have discovered that the game, like Crazy Taxi: World Tour —another SEGA announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase— will be protected by Denuvo. As for Persona 6, there are far fewer details available, but Atlus has succeeded in piquing fans' interest. The studio released the first teaser for the project, which stands out for its noticeably darker tone compared to previous games in the series. According to the official synopsis, the events of Persona 6 will take place in a modern version of Japan, where the main character, a high school student, must confront supernatural threats while making friends and developing romantic relationships. Nevertheless, this will be an entirely new story with brand-new characters, and the developers emphasize that the sixth installment is very accessible to newcomers who haven't played the previous titles in the franchise. Atlus has not yet announced the release date for Persona 6, as the game is believed to still be in the early stages of development.
