Bethesda Confirmed DLC for Doom: The Dark Ages, Titled Revelations, Will Release Next Month
For a long time, id Software teased their new DLC for Doom called The Dark Ages, comparing it to a full-fledged sequel in terms of its size. And now, at the Xbox Games Showcase, the first trailer for the expansion of last year's shooter was revealed, along with details and an upcoming release date.
In Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations, players will experience a significant shift in setting—we'll see a new frozen version of hell, which serves as a prison where the main hero, Doom Slayer, has been sent. The details of the expansion's storyline remain under wraps, but the trailer hints that a mysterious ally, whose voice we hear, will help the hero escape. Among other features, the developers have also introduced a new deadly weapon—a chained spear that refreshes the gameplay by allowing rapid movement between locations, much like a grappling hook. It's also intriguing that at the end of the trailer, after the DLC’s title is revealed, Doom Slayer experiences memories showing a more grounded setting, including a hospital—hinting at the mysterious past of the main character. Likely, Revelations will uncover all these mysteries, with the expansion set to release in just a month—on July 7th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
You can also check out everything that was announced and revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026.
