GTA 6 Fans Recall the Game Was Originally Set for Release Today

Less than six months remain until the official release of GTA 6—as previously confirmed, the game will launch on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This was reaffirmed by the recent financial report from Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games.

In turn, GTA 6 could have been available as early as today, May 26, 2026. Initially, the game was scheduled for release in 2025, as stated in the first trailer released in December 2023. On May 2, 2025, Rockstar announced that the game would be released on May 26, 2026—today—but on November 6 of that same year, a new and, hopefully, final release date was announced: November 19, 2026. Since the marketing campaign for GTA 6 is expected to begin on June 21, as teased by the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, Rockstar Games is expected to open pre-orders for the game around that time and release a new trailer.
