Byzantium will join the list of playable nations in Civilization VI

Firaxis Games continues to talk about the new nations that will be added to the New Frontier Pass. This time Byzantium will join the list of already existing factions.

The Byzantine Empire will be headed by Vasily II. The leader's special ability will be centered around light and heavy cavalry, which will deal full damage to cities. True, for this it will be necessary to spread the religion adopted by Byzantium. The unique ability of Byzantium itself will be "Taxis", which brings the points of the great prophet. It also increases religious power for each holy city that adopted the Byzantine religion.

The unique unit of the faction will be dromon and tagma. The first has a long range and power and replaces the quadrireme. The second unit replaces the knights. It grants additional power and religion points to nearby warriors.

The hippodrome will become a unique area of Byzantium. It will replace the entertainment district and will bring additional satisfaction. When building a racetrack, players will receive a free heavy cavalry unit.
