PlayStation Studios CEO Confirmed Refusal to Release Company's Single-Player Games on PC
This March, Bloomberg released a new article dedicated to Sony and company’s strategy about releasing their single-player titles on PC. This report revealed that Sony is moving away from releasing their exclusives, which left a lot of fans and PC users disappointed, and only after more than two months we received official confirmation from the representatives of PlayStation on this matter.
According to the new report of Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier on Bluesky, who was the first to reveal PlayStation’s refusal to release single-player titles on PC, this week the CEO of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, held a meeting where it was once again discussed that upcoming single-player projects will be exclusives for PlayStation consoles, confirming the report from March, as you can check out below:

“SCOOP: PlayStation studio business CEO Hermen Hulst told staff in a town hall Monday morning that the company's narrative single-player games will now be PlayStation exclusive, confirming Bloomberg's reporting from earlier this year.”
That means all upcoming Sony single-player titles, like Marvel’s Wolverine or Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, will remain PlayStation exclusives and won’t be released on PC, despite the fact that the previous projects of the development studios, like The Last of Us and Marvel’s Spider-Man game series, were ported. Schreier’s new report also denied previous rumors that Sony was considering bringing its own launcher to PC.
Sony’s latest single-player title that was released on PC was Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, launched on March 19, and PC gamers must be happy and thankful that it happened before the company decided to change its strategy. It was also rumored that Ghost of Yotei was in development for the platform but never officially confirmed.
According to various analytical data, PlayStation practically had no revenue from PC versions of its games, so it was decided to abandon ports of its exclusives. Multiplayer games will continue to be released on the platform.
