Playground Games Admitted The Fact of Forza Horizon 6 Leak on PC

The latest 24 hours have been catastrophic for Playground Games and the studio’s upcoming title, Forza Horizon 6. Game files were added in the latest Steam update, which allowed hackers to extract them, and the game appeared on many pirated sites, available to everyone.

After some time, it’s been revealed that players who downloaded Forza Horizon 6 from pirated sites would face a lifetime ban, but the developers finally officially responded to the leak, clarifying some details. In particular, they stated that the leak was not related to preload issues on Steam and asked fans to wait for the official release of the game.

“We are aware of reports that a build of Forza Horizon 6 has been obtained prior to its release and can confirm this is not the result of a pre-load issue.

We are taking strict enforcement action against any individuals found accessing this build including franchise-wide and hardware bans. We encourage fans to sit tight for the game’s release on May 19”

Besides the ban to December 31, 9999 (it’s not a mistake), Playground Games is claimed to calculate those who pirated the game using software and make it so that they cannot purchase the game, even if they create a new account.

Forza Horizon 6 takes players to Japan, where Tokyo will be the biggest city in Forza Horizon’s history. The game will include more than 550 vehicles at the start, customization, new racing modes, dynamic changes in weather conditions, the ability to buy houses and decorate garages, and more. The game has also already sold more than 500,000 copies on Steam, and hopefully the latest leak will not have any impact on the game's sales.

Forza Horizon 6 will release on May 19 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. For owners of the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade, the game will be available 4 days earlier. The version for PlayStation 5 will be available later in 2026.
