Playground Games Reacted Harshly to the Forza Horizon 6 Leak on PC

The story of the Forza Horizon 6 data leak has become one of the most discussed in the last 24 hours. This was made possible thanks to the developers themselves, as Playground Games published a large amount of unencrypted data on Steam, totaling 155 gigabytes.

This allowed hackers to use this data, and now the PC version of Forza Horizon 6 is available on many pirate sites, and thousands of players have probably already had a chance to check it out, considering that more than a week remains before the official release.

After a brief pause, the developers came up with a punishment for everyone who decided to use a pirated version of Forza Horizon 6, and it is quite impressive. As shown in a now-deleted post on Reddit, players who pirated the game face an almost lifetime ban - until December 31, attention, the year of 9999 - and this is not a joke. Moreover, it’s been added that the ban also affects not only the user's account but also access to the PC's hardware characteristics. Thus, the studio will be able to track the unique device data and will not grant access even if a new account is created.

After such a statement, players who are thinking about saying a pirated version of the game should think twice about whether to do it or not. But it seems the choice is obvious, and it is worth waiting for the official release of the game, which is slated for May 19 this year on PC and Xbox Series X/S.

For owners of the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade, the game will be available 4 days earlier. The version for PlayStation 5 will be available later in 2026.
