PC Version of Forza Horizon 6 Gets Hacked and Leaked 9 Days Before Release

Just a couple of days ago, Playground Games, the developers of Forza Horizon 6, released the launch trailer for the most anticipated racing game of 2026, but it seems they got into trouble that they themselves created. This led to the PC version data being published on Steam 9 days before the game's release.

As Reddit users have noted, the developers released another update for the Steam version of Forza Horizon 6 and accidentally published many unencrypted game files. This led to the game already appearing on many pirate sites, which could become a real disaster for Playground Games.

The total size of the game's files was approximately 155 gigabytes, and many players have already successfully gained free access to the game and even posted gameplay on social media. At the moment, Playground Games has not responded in any way to the Forza Horizon 6 file leak. Nevertheless, in the comments on X, some users began addressing the studio and even urged the developers to release the game earlier due to this situation. There is a hope that this situation will not affect the sales of the game on PC; preliminarily, as of mid-April, over 500,000 copies had already been sold on Steam, and since then, the number has probably increased.

The official release of Forza Horizon 6 is still planned for May 19 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. For owners of the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade, the game will be available 4 days earlier. The version for PlayStation 5 will be available later in 2026.
