Alien: Fireteam Elite Sequel Officially Confirmed with a Reveal Trailer

After yesterday’s breaking news reported by IGN, we learn that a new Alien game will be presented soon—the sequel to 2021’s Alien: Fireteam Elite. As part of the May IGN First presentation, Cold Iron Studios revealed the debut trailer for a new cooperative adventure: Alien: Fireteam Elite 2.

Much like the original game, the second installment of Fireteam Elite sees players stepping into the roles of Colonial Marines to face waves of menacing xenomorphs in PvE combat. The developers have also promised innovations for familiar game modes, alongside new enemy types and expanded tactical capabilities for players. For example, the game will introduce a new class—the Specialist—which allows you to fully customize your playstyle. You can check out the debut trailer for Alien: Fireteam Elite 2 below:

IGN also confirmed that it will reveal more details about the game later this month as part of May IGN First, including some exclusive content. The game releases this summer on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC; the Steam store page is already available, along with the system requirements that you can check out below:

Besides Alien: Fireteam Elite 2, last month Creative Assembly revealed the first teaser of Alien: Isolation's sequel —a continuation to the horror title, which was initially announced in 2024. Moreover, Eidos Montreal, the developers of Deux Ex franchise, are reportedly working on a big-budget AAA title based on Alien that is described as “Shadow of the Tomb Raider with Xenomorphs” though it’s not announced yet.
