Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick Saw the Gameplay of GTA 6 and Called It “Amazing”

Over the past couple of weeks, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has been exceptionally active, attending various gaming exhibitions and giving interviews to various media outlets. Naturally, he faced many questions about GTA 6, the upcoming Rockstar Games title. With its marketing campaign set to begin this summer, Zelnick's recent remarks regarding the game's mechanics are likely to further heighten fan anticipation for the next reveal.

Zelnick recently gave a new interview to Stephen Totilo of Game File, in which the topic of the most anticipated game of 2026 was raised once again. Although the Take-Two CEO did not reveal any new details about GTA 6, he admitted that he saw the demo gameplay with his own eyes, and it looked “amazing”. He added that he is “not a video game player” and has not had the opportunity to play it himself, but what he saw was sufficient.

He also addressed recent speculation regarding Rockstar Games potentially developing a new entry or a revival of the L.A. Noire series during a conversation with a Variety representative at the iicon conference. At the time, Zelnick stated:

“We’re looking at doing something in the future with all of our intellectual property. There’s nothing to announce on L.A. Noire specifically, and if there were, it would be Rockstar announcing it, not me.”

As it turned out, fans misinterpreted Zelnick's statements; there was no hint of an L.A. Noire sequel, as he was merely noting that older franchises might be revisited in the future.

Regarding GTA 6, as previously mentioned, the game's marketing campaign is set to begin this summer. Rockstar Games is currently finalizing preparations, including the production of various billboards and posters for upcoming placement in New York. Furthermore, Take-Two is scheduled to hold its next financial results briefing on May 21. Fans are anticipating the release of new game content this month, particularly as it has been exactly one year since the debut of the second trailer.

In turn, according to gaming insider DetectiveSeeds, we will see multiple trailers for Grand Theft Auto VI —first on Rockstar Games' own platforms and subsequently at a PlayStation event, courtesy of their partnership with Take-Two. This may happen as early as the next State of Play, which is reportedly scheduled for late May or early June.

For now, you can also find out everything we know about GTA 6 so far, about the story, gameplay, map, open world, platforms, and more— here.
