Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Chris Redfield Together, with Alex Wesker as Villain: New Details of Resident Evil 10
Resident Evil 10 is rumored to have been in development at Capcom since 2021, according to the report of franchise insider Dusk Golem. Although the studio hasn’t confirmed it yet and is unlikely to reveal it in the near future, astonishing success of this year’s Resident Evil Requiem guarantees the release of the tenth installment in the coming years.
It’s hard to predict the story of Resident Evil 10 so far, but mention of Chris Redfield at the end of Requiem might tease his return in the game; at the same time, another insider, Macrox, revealed the first details of the upcoming title. According to him, it will be the scariest Resident Evil ever and include a new protagonist named Talia, who survived a biological incident in a modern European city. He also shared a new report about possible Resident Evil 10, which should be considered a rumor, but it indicates the villain—Alex Wesker.
Alex Wesker is the twelfth candidate in Spencer’s project dedicated to the creation of a superhuman race. She is living in the body of Natalia Corda, with the help of a special virus and ability to transform consciousness. Despite having a Wesker surname, Alex is not a family member of Albert Wesker, perhaps the most recognizable villain in Resident Evil lore. They are, rather, “brother and sister” from the Wesker Project—an experiment conducted by the Umbrella Corporation. Alex Wesker previously appeared in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and Resident Evil: Resistance, and she was also mentioned in Resident Evil 5.
Insider also clarifies Resident Evil 10 will feature how Alex Wesker was able to take control over Natalia’s body and establish The Connections—a secret international organization dedicated to the development and sale of biological weapons. It was introduced in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard; although we know not much about The Connections, it is responsible for the creation of Evelyn, Mold, and many other tragic incidents.
At last, insider hints that Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Chris Redfield will unite to fight against Alex Mercer and The Connections.
"The main villain in the tenth installment will be Alex Wesker
(who took over Natalia’s body);
The game will reveal how Alex managed to gain complete control over Natalia’s body and establish The Connections organization from the shadows, which explains Capcom’s need to bring Jill, Leon, and Chris together to stop the final, true threat posed by Wesker;"
So far, it sounds really impressive, but this doesn't quite match up with earlier information provided by an insider, who claimed that a character named Talia would be the main protagonist in Resident Evil 10. If that's the case, she will most likely join forces with Leon, Jill, and Chris in their fight against numerous villains.
Anyway, all of this is not confirmed and should be considered with a grain of salt.
Capcom is currently actively working on a DLC for Resident Evil Requiem and the remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica.
