Protagonist of Resident Evil 10 Reportedly Revealed

Although Capcom hasn’t confirmed it yet, it is believed that the studio is already working on Resident Evil 10 after the massive success of this year’s Resident Evil Requiem. Moreover, according to franchise insider Dusk Golem, the game has been in active development since 2021 and is likely to be released in the next couple of years.

We don’t know any story details of Resident Evil 10 yet, but according to the new rumors, we will see a brand-new character in the game—Talia, who has survived a biological incident in a modern, European city. It is also mentioned that Capcom wants to make Resident Evil 10 the scariest game in the franchise, which will also be less action-focused and similar to the survival horror genre. “Leaked drafts of RE10 indicate that the new protagonist is named Talia, a survivor of a biological incident in a modern-day European city.

The direction: The game will be the "most terrifying" in the series' history, with fewer action elements and a focus on the utter helplessness against colossal monsters that cannot be killed with ordinary bullets.”

So far, there is no evidence that this will actually be part of the Resident Evil 10 storyline, but in recent years Capcom has shown that it is willing to take the series in new directions by introducing new characters, as was the case with Ethan Winters in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem. On the other hand, the ending of Requiem could have set up events for the upcoming tenth installment, with some iconic characters like Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy possibly appearing in the game as well.

We also know that Capcom is developing a DLC expansion to Resident Evil Requiem, where Leon S. Kennedy might be the protagonist, and the remake of 2000’s Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which is set to be officially confirmed this year and released in 2027.
