Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2 gets keyboard and mouse support, major balance changes, and Patch 1.1.10 fixes
Thanks to PC players for another successful beta testing phase, Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2 will now include keyboard and mouse support, significantly improving control flexibility for players who prefer a more precise, PC-like gameplay experience. This addition is especially notable because it shows how testing feedback from one platform can directly influence feature development across others, creating a more unified gameplay standard across ecosystems.
Alongside this feature, Patch 1.1.10 introduces major technical upgrades and quality-of-life improvements. One of the standout updates is the implementation of PSSR 2 support on PS5 Pro, which enhances upscaling performance and visual clarity. This results in sharper textures, improved lighting stability, and smoother frame delivery, especially during fast-paced combat and dense open-world environments. For many players, this update marks a noticeable step forward in visual fidelity and optimization.

Another major change comes with the expansion of the bo staff weapon system, which is now available to all players without requiring the Claws of Awaji expansion. Once a player obtains at least one unique bo variant, non-legendary versions of the weapon will begin dropping from enemies, appearing in loot chests, and being sold by merchants. This redesign not only improves accessibility but also encourages deeper experimentation with different combat builds and playstyles.
The update also brings a wide range of important gameplay fixes and balance adjustments. A frustrating issue that previously caused fast travel points to become unavailable has now been resolved, restoring smooth world navigation. Another critical fix addresses a bug where damage bonuses were not applying correctly when the character was unarmed, ensuring combat calculations now function as intended. Additionally, stat bonuses from multiple sources can now exceed +100%, opening the door for more advanced character builds and high-level optimization strategies.

Performance and stability improvements are also a key focus of this patch. Several crashes that occurred during additional content verification have been eliminated, reducing interruptions and improving overall reliability. Ubisoft has also fixed multiple progression-blocking issues, including softlocks in missions such as “Brothers in Arms” and “Winter Raiders,” ensuring that players can now complete story content without unexpected interruptions or save-breaking bugs.
AI behavior has also received adjustments. Enemy detection logic and combat responsiveness have been fine-tuned to create more balanced encounters. Enemies now react more naturally to player movement and stealth actions, reducing situations where detection felt either too slow or unfairly instant. These changes aim to make stealth gameplay more predictable while still maintaining tension and challenge.

Economy and loot balancing have also been refined. Drop rates for certain resources have been adjusted to improve progression pacing, ensuring players are neither overpowered too early nor forced into excessive grinding. Combined with the new weapon distribution changes for the bo staff, this creates a more consistent and satisfying progression curve throughout the game.
The update also includes improvements to UI responsiveness and menu navigation. Input delays in inventory screens, map navigation, and skill trees have been reduced, making gear management and build customization faster and more fluid.

On the audio-visual side, several fixes address cutscene audio desync issues and lighting inconsistencies in indoor environments. These improvements enhance immersion and create a morestable and polished presentation overall.
Overall, Patch 1.1.10 is not just a stability update - it is a comprehensive refinement pass that improves nearly every layer of the game, from combat and AI to visuals, performance, and progression systems. With enhanced controls on Switch 2, improved graphics on PS5 Pro, smarter enemy behavior, and smoother gameplay systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues to evolve into a more polished, balanced, and feature-rich experience for all players.
