Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 Release Date and Price Reportedly Leaked
The release date and pricing for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows have reportedly leaked ahead of any official confirmation from Ubisoft. The details come from Dealabs writer billbil-kun, a well-known and consistently reliable source for early game listings and hardware leaks.
According to the report, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will release on December 5, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch 2. Both digital and physical editions are planned, with the physical release distributed as a Game-Key Card rather than a standard cartridge. Pricing is said to be around €50 in Europe, aligning with recent third-party releases on the new system, such as Sonic X Shadow Generations, which launched at the same price point. Equivalent pricing in the United States and United Kingdom has not been officially listed, but similar conversions would place it at approximately $50 and £45.
The leak also notes that a pre-order phase for the game is in the works. While the exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, data provided by billbil-kun indicates pre-orders are expected to begin before November 7.
Ubisoft has not yet announced a Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but mounting evidence continues to suggest that the release is imminent. Earlier in April, a PEGI listing briefly appeared online, showing Assassin’s Creed Shadows among the Switch 2’s supported formats. The entry was later removed, but screenshots of the listing circulated across gaming forums and social media.
Additional proof appeared this past weekend when French retailer Auchan accidentally published a product page for the same version before removing it. The listing included box art confirming the Game-Key Card release and featured a short description in French that translated to: “Experience Assassin’s Creed Shadows in a whole new way with Nintendo Switch 2.”
Read also, Marc-Alexis Côté, the long-time creative lead and head of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, recently left Ubisoft after nearly 20 years. His departure followed Ubisoft’s decision to transfer oversight of the Assassin’s Creed series to Vantage Studios, a newly established team co-owned by Ubisoft and Tencent, with a 75% to 25% ownership split, respectively.
The potential arrival of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Nintendo’s next-generation console follows the positive reception of Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws port for Switch 2. That release earned praise for its technical performance, with Digital Foundry’s John Linneman describing it as “insanely impressive” for the hardware.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched earlier this year to strong reviews. VGC called it “so much better than many expected it to be,” praising its gameplay, story, and open-world design. The game has been credited with restoring confidence in the long-running franchise, which had faced mixed receptions in recent years.
Ubisoft has not commented on the reported Switch 2 release, and no official announcement date has been confirmed.
