Fortnite x Toy Story Collab: Release Date, Skins, and Leaked Cosmetics

Leaks suggest that a new crossover is coming to Fortnite, with characters from Toy Story set to join the game in an upcoming update. The collaboration is expected to introduce iconic heroes, themed cosmetics, and limited-time content tied to the franchise’s return to theaters in 2026.

While Epic Games has not revealed full details yet, multiple sources point to a release in the near future.

Epic Games has already teased the crossover through the in-game news feed, labeling it as “Coming Soon.” Although no official release date has been confirmed, dataminers indicate that the event could arrive early in Chapter 7 Season 2, which launched on March 19.

Additional evidence appeared with the v40.10 update, where encrypted files linked to Toy Story content were discovered. These findings suggest that the collaboration is already prepared for deployment.

The timing also aligns with the theatrical release of Toy Story 5, scheduled for June 19, 2026, featuring the return of Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear. Epic has previously coordinated major collaborations around film premieres, making this window highly plausible.

The announcement preview confirms that the iconic three-eyed Alien will be part of the crossover. According to leaks, several major characters are expected to join the roster:

  • Woody
  • Buzz Lightyear
  • Zurg
  • Alien (likely as a sidekick-style cosmetic)

Each skin is expected to cost around 1,500 V-Bucks and will reportedly be released through the Item Shop rather than the Battle Pass.

I think this lineup makes sense, as these are the most recognizable characters in the franchise and would likely drive strong player interest.

Leaks also suggest that the collaboration will include more than just skins:

  • Buzz vs Zurg Showdown Cup — A potential limited-time event offering early access to select cosmetics
  • Pizza Planet Car — A themed vehicle cosmetic inspired by the iconic delivery truck

These additions would expand the crossover beyond cosmetics, giving players more ways to engage with the event.

At this stage, most details remain based on leaks and datamining, meaning some elements could change before release. However, the combination of in-game teasers and encrypted files strongly indicates that the collaboration is imminent.

I see this as another strategic move by Epic Games, especially with Disney partnerships continuing to grow and major film releases providing perfect timing for crossover events.
