Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Could Feature Most Intense Action Scenes In the Franchise

Crystal Dynamics is working on two new Tomb Raider installments, announced at last year’s The Game Awards show. One of them is the next mainline game, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which is also surprisingly the sequel to 2008’s Tomb Raider: Underworld, and the second is Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the remake of the original 1996 ’Tomb Raider.

In the previous Tomb Raider installments, stealth was, if not the key, still an important feature. But it seems like Legacy of Atlantis could be focused on action scenes more than quiet walkthroughs. And the reason is Crystal Dynamics is developing the game in cooperation with Flying Wild Hog, the studio that made some meat shooters like Shadow Warrior game series and Evil West. As noticed by Legion Looterana, we could get the most action-packed Tomb Raider game ever.

“A BRUTAL DETAIL about Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Although Crystal Dynamics and Amazon are leading the development of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, there's a detail that has gone unnoticed:

The game is being co-developed by Flying Wild Hog!

We're talking about the studio behind the frenetic action of Shadow Warrior and Evil West.

Everything points to us saying goodbye to slow stealth and welcoming the most dynamic and aggressive combat in the saga's history.”

According to the same source, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is also set to unite all the Tomb Raider timelines, which will make it one of the most (if not the most) important games in the series. Besides Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, Crystal Dynamics is also reportedly working on a big-budget video game based on The Lord of the Rings universe, as was recently revealed.
