Eggspedition Brings Dinosaurs to a Co-Op Shooter Experience
Wildflame Studio has announced Eggspedition, a new first-person dinosaur co-op shooter set to launch later in 2025. The game focuses on multiplayer missions but can also be played solo. Unlike narrative-driven experiences, Eggspedition is built around completing objectives across unknown planets, such as retrieving rare eggs, extracting resources, or holding zones against waves of predators.
"Before you even step out of the drop pod, all you see is the difficulty level. The rest? A complete unknown," — Wildflame Studio.
Players take the role of Vector Unit 9, a specialist team tasked with operating in high-risk environments. Every mission presents different challenges, from facing packs of velociraptors to surviving against towering T-rexes. The central mechanic is clear: no egg, no evac. Success requires recovering the target objective and making it out alive before the dinosaurs reclaim what was taken.
Eggspedition is built in Unreal Engine 5 and already showcases strong visuals, with detailed environments and creature designs. Between missions, players can spend earned credits to upgrade weapons and gear, creating an incentive to push deeper into hostile territory. Each planet offers its own dangers, ensuring no two missions feel identical.
The game’s name is a deliberate play on words, echoing the style of titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and it positions Eggspedition as a recognizable addition to the growing lineup of dinosaur-themed shooters. While fans of single-player experiences may be disappointed, Wildflame’s smaller scale makes the focus on cooperative play more feasible.
Eggspedition does not yet have a precise release date, but it is already available to wishlist on Steam.
