Jack Black Back in THPS 3+4 as Officer Dick — With a New British Twist
I knew something was up the second I saw the thumbnail: Officer Dick kicking his legs in the air like he owns the damn rail. Yeah, that Officer Dick — the one who yells at you in the school maps, the one every THPS player remembers getting chased by. Now, he’s not only back in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, but he’s got a cousin. A British cousin.
Constable Richard, as he’s called, is voiced by Jack Black too — same chaotic energy, but with a London accent that’s either terrible or brilliant depending on how many lagers you’ve had. I watched the trailer three times just to be sure I wasn’t dreaming. There he is: doing high-kicks, swinging the law baton mid-grind, and being peak “cop turned poser turned skater.” That’s the lore now, by the way.
Richard Ennvee, according to the devs, used to get mocked by real skaters for being a poser. So what does he do? Becomes the ultimate symbol of repression — the law. Then goes full circle and shreds better than the kids who roasted him. Kinda poetic if you squint.

Now, if you’ve ever watched Thrasher’s “Hall of Meat” or anything from their YouTube vault, you’ll know the beef between skaters and cops is real. I’m talking kicked-out-of-a-spot, skate confiscated, fines, and full-on chases. The old trope of skaters vs authority isn’t just a narrative device — it’s how skate culture developed. So having Black’s Officer Dick (and now Constable Richard) playable again is like THPS embracing the ridiculous tension between punk skate energy and literal badge-wearing opposition. And turning it into a joke you can kickflip with.
What’s even better is that this isn’t just a cameo. Game director Kurt Tillmanns told Variety that Black was down to do more, and they used this chance to expand on Officer Dick’s “story.” Apparently, Dick’s just a guy who got dunked on and decided to become the system — and now he’s back doing nosegrinds through it.
“Richard Ennvee was mocked by other skaters and called a ‘poser’. Overtaken by the need for revenge, Dick vowed to one day become what those skaters feared most — the long arm of the law.”
That’s the actual in-game bio. They’re not hiding the absurdity — they’re leaning all the way in.
In more formal terms, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to release on July 11, 2025. The remastered bundle will hit every major platform, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Battle.net, Microsoft Store), and Nintendo Switch. If you’re on Game Pass Ultimate or PC, you’re in luck — it's available there too at launch.
Jack Black previously appeared in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (2020) as Officer Dick, turning the old NPC security guard into a fully playable skater complete with voice lines and exaggerated antics. It was well-received, and fans clearly wanted more. The dev team took that as a sign to go all-in with this sequel combo—3+4, bringing the character back with twice the energy, and a new skin.
And that brings us to what this reappearance really signals: the Tony Hawk franchise is still culturally relevant — and self-aware. Bringing in Jack Black, not just as comic relief but as a walking (skating?) symbol of the chaos skateboarding lives in, reflects the tone of the entire series. These games were never just about tricks and scoring. They were about attitude, identity, rebellion, with a controller in hand.
It’s no accident that Officer Dick shows up on school maps — the classic battleground of “don’t skate here” vs “I’m gonna do it anyway.” And it’s no surprise that players loved turning the tables by skating as the dude who used to stop them.
With THPS 3+4, that humor is still alive. It’s dressed in cosplay, voiced by Tenacious D, and doing impossible tricks in a full police uniform.
And yes — I’m 100% maining Constable Richard just for the voice lines.
