Elden Ring: Nightreign Gets Easier for Solo Players
New patch brings revives, more runes, and improved balance
Elden Ring: Nightreign has just received a significant update aimed at making the game more accessible for solo players. After previously acknowledging the challenges faced by those playing alone, FromSoftware has rolled out a new patch following a brief period of server downtime earlier today.
🛡️ Key Solo Play Improvements
The most notable change is a new feature that grants solo players an automatic one-time revival during battles against Nightlords. Additionally, the amount of runes earned from encounters has been increased, offering better rewards for solo adventurers.
⚖️ General Gameplay Balance Updates
FromSoftware has also implemented two major balance tweaks to improve progression and rewards:
- Increased high-rarity Relics are now available when players reach the final day of an expedition.
- The odds of receiving high-rarity Relics from Scenic Flat stones bought at the Small Jar Bazaar have been boosted. These stones previously offered mostly low-level items.
🔧 Other Improvements & Bug Fixes
- The camera behavior during the Guardian’s Ultimate Art has been adjusted for a smoother visual experience.
- A fix has been applied to ensure the Duchess’s Restage skill correctly triggers status effects from other players’ attacks.
- Several minor bugs and visual inconsistencies have also been addressed.
🖥️ Steam-Specific Fixes
On PC, especially for Steam users, a few targeted fixes have been included:
- The climb action has been improved, enhancing traversal.
- Low visual settings now render graphics correctly.
However, FromSoftware notes that frame rate issues may persist on certain setups using the latest graphics cards, an issue first mentioned in the day-one patch notes.
🌐 Ongoing Multiplayer Feedback
While Nightreign is designed as a multiplayer-focused spin-off, it received criticism for being unfriendly to solo players. Today’s patch is a clear step toward balancing that experience.
Earlier, the studio also acknowledged matchmaking issues on PlayStation and hinted at the potential for a two-player mode in future updates. Meanwhile, a fan-made PC mod has already introduced a two-player mode, with more features planned down the line.
