Fortnite Launches “Party Up: Celestial Strike” Event with Free Cosmetics – Starts May 23

Epic Games has revealed a brand-new limited-time event for Fortnite called Party Up: Celestial Strike, set to begin on May 23 at 9 AM ET. This event follows hot on the heels of Fortnite’s Star Wars: Galactic Battle mini-season, which introduced an AI-driven Darth Vader NPC—capable of joining your squad and interacting via voice chat. While this feature drew legal scrutiny from SAG-AFTRA due to the use of AI voice acting, it sparked intrigue among fans for its technical ambition.

🪐 Party Up: Celestial Strike – What You Need to Know

The event will run from May 23 to June 7 at 2:30 PM ET and revolves around co-op gameplay. Players must form parties and complete daily quests to unlock rewards.

Each quest completed unlocks a new reward, with the final grand prize being the full Iridia Vayne Outfit.

Quest Rewards Breakdown:

  • 1 Quest: “Alien Boy” Jam Track
  • 2 Quests: Victory Plume Spray
  • 3 Quests: Opaline Slashers Pickaxe
  • 4 Quests: Confident Iridia Spray
  • 5 Quests: Peacock’s Dream Wrap
  • 6 Quests: Opaline Scabbard Back Bling
  • 7 Quests: High Five! Emoticon
  • 8 Quests: Origami Battalion Emote
  • 9 Quests: Iridia Vayne Outfit

New quests will unlock daily from May 23 through May 31, giving players plenty of opportunities to complete them at their own pace.

🕹️ How Quests Work

The daily quests will alternate between two types of objectives:

  • Earning XP in Epic-made modes (e.g. Zero Build, LEGO Odyssey, Reload, Ballistic)
  • Earning XP in player-created experiences — encouraging community participation

To qualify, you’ll need to be in a party with at least one friend. Solo players, unfortunately, won’t be able to claim the rewards.

🚀 More Star Wars Content Incoming: Mandalorian Rising Update (May 22)

Before the Celestial Strike event even begins, Fortnite will launch the Mandalorian Rising update on May 22, bringing even more Star Wars content to the island. This update introduces:

  • A customizable Mandalorian skin
  • The return of the Mandalorian Jetpack
  • New themed weapons to shake up the battlefield

💬 The Community Response

With so many events and fresh content rolling out, Fortnite players are optimistic about the game's creative direction. Between Celestial Strike, the Star Wars crossover, and upcoming Chapter 6, Season 3, Fortnite is clearly doubling down on engagement, storytelling, and reward-driven gameplay.

Whether you’re here for the cosmetics, co-op fun, or sci-fi action, there’s no better time to squad up and dive in.
