New Zealand-based developer Grinding Gear Games launched Path of Exile 2 as an early access title on December 6, 2024. Since its release, the studio has maintained an impressive pace, averaging 2.5 updates per week. The latest update, 0.1.1d, released on February 17, marks the game’s 25th patch and brings a host of new features and refinements.

Key Features of Update 0.1.1d

One of the most significant additions in this update is the Map Stash tab, designed to improve item organization and storage efficiency. The tab includes six sub-stashes, each capable of holding up to 96 Waystones per tier, providing a total storage capacity of 576 Waystones per tier. Players can personalize each sub-stash with custom names and colors, and even set them to public visibility for listing items on the Trade website.

Managing Waystones in the new system is streamlined: players can quickly transfer items by Control-clicking them in their inventory, automatically sorting them into the appropriate sub-stash based on their tier. Console users can achieve the same functionality by selecting a Waystone and pressing the designated stash button—Y on Xbox Series X/S and Triangle on PlayStation 5.

Performance and Bug Fixes

Beyond new features, update 0.1.1d enhances overall performance, particularly on Xbox consoles, and introduces multiple bug fixes to refine gameplay. Notable fixes include:

  • Resolving a visual issue in the Passive Skill Tree where Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence attributes displayed incorrect values when using a controller.
  • Fixing a bug that caused online item filters to occasionally fail to load on consoles.
  • Addressing an issue where Xbox players' settings could be lost when switching between Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2.
  • Adding support for the 16:10 aspect ratio when using a controller.
  • Restoring missing Supporter Pack upgrade options on consoles.
  • Fixing both client and instance crashes to improve overall game stability.

Additional Content and Future Updates

The update also unlocks the Havenwood Cloak cosmetic microtransaction, allowing players to equip this new DLC cosmetic in-game. Released just one week after update 0.1.1c, this latest patch marks the third major update in February alone. Grinding Gear Games has committed to ongoing weekly improvements as Path of Exile 2 remains in early access.

With at least six months of early access planned, the full launch of Path of Exile 2 (version 1.0) isn’t expected before May 2025. While the early access build is currently available for $29.99, the final version of the game will be free-to-play upon release.

Path of Exile 2 Update 0.1.1d Patch Notes
