Roblox's Glitch Giveth: The Epic Headless Horseman Heist and the Swift Clawback!
A recent blunder by the Roblox team resulted in an unexpected treat for some players who snagged the coveted Headless Horseman character for free. Initially priced at a hefty 30,000 Robux, equivalent to about $300, this unique skin is a sought-after cosmetic among Roblox enthusiasts.
The Headless Horseman bundle, featuring 11 items, was originally exclusive to the Halloween season and was intended to be available only until October 31. However, on November 16, an inadvertent reappearance in the in-game store caught the attention of vigilant players. The listing glitch allowed a fortunate few to claim the bundle without spending a single Robux.
Despite the momentary windfall, Roblox swiftly rectified the error within 15 minutes. Yet, the company has decided not to honor the accidental listing. In a statement on the official forums, InceptionTime, a Roblox Developer Relations representative, confirmed the unintentional sale and assured affected users that the erroneously acquired bundles would be removed from their inventories. The impacted players will also receive direct notifications regarding the resolution of the issue.
Roblox Corporation's response aligns with their recent policy changes, particularly their decision to disallow free body and head listings on the store. Despite the company's own oversight leading to the unintended distribution of one of the game's priciest bundles, they remain firm in retracting the Headless Horseman from players' possession.
To provide context, the Headless Horseman bundle was initially priced at 31,000 Robux during its official October sale. This valuation exceeded $275, even when considering the most favorable exchange rate applicable to the largest currency bundle. While Robux can be earned through content creation, such as designing cosmetics or developing games, the accidental acquisition of this high-value bundle was a brief and unintended anomaly.
