Blizzard has decided to modify the menu of Diablo 4 after players accidentally activate the Premium Battle Pass
In Diablo 4, there is a menu section called "Season Journey" where players can track their progress, and as a result, some players check it regularly. Directly below this section, there is an option called "Activate Premium," which allows owners of the Premium Battle Pass to activate it, granting them access to premium features and upgrading their standard Battle Pass to the premium version. This usually does not cause any issues, as those who wish to purchase the premium battle pass must go through the standard purchasing process in the store.
However, the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Diablo 4 include a premium battle pass, and some players may choose not to activate it in the first season of the game, preferring to save it for future seasons (for example, if they do not like the cosmetic items included in Season 1's premium battle pass).
The core issue is that if players accidentally select the "Activate Premium" option while they already have a premium battle pass in their inventory, the pass is instantly activated without any confirmation prompt, leaving players with no option to cancel the activation.
Twitter user Rurikhan has pointed out that when navigating to the "Season" section, the "Activate Premium" option is automatically highlighted by default, and he accuses Blizzard of "extremely negative design" for placing it that way in the menu.
When asked about the reasons for the problem, Rurikhan responds: "Because I wanted to save my Battle Pass for future seasons as I don't have the time to fully participate in the current one."
Adam Fletcher, the Global Community Development Director for Diablo 4, responded to a tweet from the user with the handle Rurikhan, stating that their team is working on a temporary solution to the problem.
In his tweet, he said: "We have a temporary fix in the works that will at least ensure the cursor isn't defaulted there and will instead be defaulted on 'Season Journey'."
