Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will not be like the Dark Souls games

Recently , at The Game Awards 2022 FromSoftware , famous for the games of the Dark Souls series , as well as Bloodborne , Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring , presented a trailer for their new project. They became Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon . Earlier we wrote about the announcement of the series based on God of War .

Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of FromSoftware, gave an interview in which he told some details of the 6th part of the legendary series. According to Miyazaki, Armored Core 6 will not be similar to the games in the Dark Souls series in terms of gameplay, since this series has always been not about that. The game will be a third-person action game on giant mechs. The emphasis will be on customizing your robot.

Miyazaki noted that the project will be led by Masaru Yamamura, who served as the lead designer for Sekiro. Miyazaki himself will be doing other work in the studio. At the same time, it is claimed that the game will feature boss battles similar to those that players could see in projects of the Souls series. But Miyazaki claims they will be much faster given the use of mechs.

Masaru Yamamura stated that although the game will focus on the use of guns and missiles, including dual-wielding. Experienced players will be able to use mechs for close combat, so would-be big robot drivers will have room to choose their preferred play style.

The previous part of the AC series, namely Armored Core 5, was released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The original Armored Core was released back in 1997 on the first PlayStation.
