FromSoftware start recruiting for game development
On the Twitter account and the official website of FromSoftware, information appeared that the Japanese game studio began a new wave of recruitment for various positions.
Among the vacancies are the positions of a game designer, programmer, art designer, graphic designer, animation creator, technical artist, sound designer and others.
FromSoftware got its start with adventure RPG games in 1994 for the PlayStation. Later they worked with the horror genre and other different directions.
FromSoftware received great fame for inventing the genre of souls-like games, extremely hardcore and merciless towards users. Such titles are known for the fact that not only bosses, but also ordinary ordinary opponents pose a great danger to players, and not everyone succeeds in defeating the boss on the first attempt, to put it mildly. To kill bosses, you will need to fully study the behavior patterns and be patient.
The debut of such a project was the title Demon's Souls, released in 2009 for the PlayStation 3.
The game received critical praise, high marks, and acclaim for its unusual approach to the complexity it creates for users. Two years later, the ideological successor to Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, came out, which has now visited all platforms, and not just the Sony PlayStation consoles. With the release of Dark Souls, the community has fully embraced From Software's hardcore games as a new genre in its own right in the industry.
In 2019, a game in the Japanese setting Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was released. The unique feature of the title fit into the name of the game and each boss had to be killed twice by the players.
Elden Ring, released in February of this year, once again brings new aspects to the gameplay of souls-like games. Users could now ride a horse and travel longer distances in a large open world more quickly. George R. R. Martin himself, who is known for his book series A Song of Ice and Fire and the further adaptation of the series Game of Thrones, helped write the script for Hidataka Miyazaki.
From Software announced the start of development of unnamed titles, and now, apparently, the company is entering the active development phase of its projects, as it recruits a lot of staff to achieve its goals.
