Amazon Partners With Riot Games To Host VALORANT RE/LOAD
The well-known technology company Amazon has announced a partnership agreement with the developer and publisher of games Riot Games. As part of the deal, the parties will partner with Crown Channel Twitch Prime to host RE/LOAD, a year-end event celebrating all aspects of the VALORANT community, including esports initiatives.
Nikki Lewis, Senior Director of Brand Marketing at Riot Games: "We're thrilled to partner with Amazon and the folks at Crown Channel to co-host the RE/LOAD event for our community. VALORANT lives at the intersection of competitive disciplines and forward-thinking music, so partnering with Crown Channel from Amazon to host an in-person event like RE // LOAD was a no-brainer."
Amazon continues to expand its presence in the esports industry. Most recently, the company's audio streaming platform joined forces with the Esports Awards, and in July it partnered with tournament organizer BLAST to host the BLAST Titans Apex Legends Championship.
Notably, Riot Games is no stranger to partnering with Amazon. In recent years, the publisher has partnered with the company on projects ranging from an agreement involving Prime Gaming to an agreement with Amazon Web Services.
On Dec. 16 in Atlanta, GA, RE/LOAD will host a tournament featuring a range of content creators including Michael "Shroud" Grzesek and Jackie "Stewie2K" Yip. In addition to professional matches, the event will feature musical performances by Dabin and Mike Dimes.
