Mercedes-Benz and Riot Games extend partnership until 2025
Developer Riot Games has announced that it has extended its partnership with automotive brand Mercedes-Benz until at least 2025. According to company representatives, the three-year extension of the deal is aimed at further developing the global esports culture and the global League of Legends community. However, details of future activations outside of the Championship Ring have not been revealed by the parties.
The upcoming League of Legends World Championship, hosted by the United States and Mexico, will reportedly be the "highlight" of the renewed partnership.
Mercedes-Benz has been a League of Legends global partner since 2020, when the brand became a trophy show sponsor and official exclusive automotive partner.
Naz Aletha, Global Head of League of Legends Esports at Riot Games: "Mercedes-Benz is synonymous with excellence, and over the past three years, their partnership has helped elevate and celebrate the most important moments in our sport. The passion and creativity that Mercedes-Benz brings to every collaboration is second to none and we are thrilled to expand our relationship and continue to join forces to create more meaningful moments for LoL Esports and our community."
One of the planned events for the 2022 World Championship will be the Trophy Presentation Ceremony hosted by Mercedes-EQ, which will include the handover of the Championship Ring to the winning team. In addition, the parties are planning other joint events within the framework of the championship, which, according to them, will increase the level of the esports experience for fans.
The 2022 World Championship will take place from September 29 to November 5 in Mexico and the United States. The Play-In stage will take place from September 29 to October 4 at the Arena Esports Stadium in Mexico City, and the group stage will take place from October 7-10 and October 13-16 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
