Astralis acquired a controlling stake in PIXEL.TV
Danish esports organization Astralis has announced it has acquired a majority stake in regional producer and broadcaster PIXEL.TV. The acquisition is expected to enhance Astralis' content production capabilities while continuing to produce content under the PIXEL.TV umbrella.
Anders Hersholt, CEO of Astralis: "PIXEL.TV was the first Danish internet TV platform and over the past decade, CEO Thomas Bense has established a strong position in the Danish gaming and entertainment community. The acquisition is a strategic move that will support the Astralis brand and operations significantly strengthening our digital production, presence and outreach to further reach a rapidly growing audience."
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Thomas Bence, Founder and Director of PIXEL.TV: "I'm really looking forward to working with the Astralis organization. We have a solid starting point in the gaming world where we will become even more significant, and by including a lot more esports related content, we will provide significant demand for entertaining, engaging, fun and serious esports content related to tournaments, players, teams and events."
Recall that earlier the Astralis organization entered into a partnership agreement with 3 (Three). At the same time, the club continues to work to strengthen its influence in Denmark through strategic acquisitions and partnership agreements.
