SG e-Sports disbanded its roster
The Brazilian Dota 2 team has decided to disband the roster. It has been reported on the official Facebook group of the team.
SG e-Sports said in its statement that the decision had been made, according to an agreement of two sides. Players will continue their career of professional players but it is unknown where.
The team was created on November 13 last year. SG e-Sports won twice over nine months of the existence, having won a trophy at Brazil Game Cup 2017 Rio and held the first place at The Kiev Major 2017 South America Qualifier. The public remembered SG e-Sports most of all due to their participation in The Kiev Major 2017, when being obvious outsiders, the Brazilians beat one of the favorites of the tournament, the European team Team Secret with a score 2-1. It is worth to notice that Team Secret played in the best way at the group stage of the tournament, having finished their participation with a 3-0 statistics. Evil Geniuses faced SG e-Sports after their victory over Team Secret, they didn’t allow “the Brazilian dark horses” to get to the semi-final. SG held the 5th-8th place and earned the consolation prize in the sum of $125,000.
After that, the team was awaited by a dark streak and the relatively unsatisfactory result at The Final Match 2017 made the team think about the future.
