In December, the online player count of Dota 2 ceased its three-month decline
In December 2023, the average online player count in Dota 2 reached 435,000. This marked the first increase in three months, following a slight decline since September. The data was provided by the analytical service Steam Charts.
The peak number of online users exceeded 800,000. Throughout 2023, this occurred only twice: in April and August. The release of the long-awaited gaming event "Frostivus" likely contributed to this surge.
Currently, the professional Dota 2 scene is on hiatus. The first major tournament of the current season will be the BetBoom Dacha Winter 2024, scheduled for the first half of February. Qualifiers for participation will begin on January 3rd. The tournament prize pool will amount to one million dollars.
