Paparazi has retired from professional gaming

Zhang "Paparazi" Chengjun, a well-known Dota 2 player, has made an announcement about his retirement from the competitive gaming scene. Xtreme Gaming, the organization he was associated with, confirmed this news through their social media platforms.

The decision to retire comes as a result of health issues that arose after The International 2022. Despite facing these challenges, Paparazi has decided to stick with the team for another year. However, specific details regarding his future plans have not been disclosed yet.

In a previous statement, Paparazi openly expressed his disappointment with his recent performances. He felt heartbroken thinking about how he used to shine at The International, whereas now he struggles even to qualify for major tournaments.

Chengjun began his professional career in 2015, and one of his most remarkable achievements was securing the fifth-sixth place at The International 2019 while playing for Vici Gaming. Additionally, he enjoyed multiple victories in LAN tournaments, including two majors. Throughout his eight-year journey, he amassed earnings exceeding $1.2 million.
