Famous Chinese Dota 2 player Hu 'Kaka' Liangzhi announced on his stream that he will take a break from Dota 2 career for six months. Information about this also appeared on the Twitter account of CN Dota In A Nutshell, a channel dedicated to Chinese Dota.
According to Kaka, at the moment it would be best to take a break for a while, and then finish the season. According to Liangzhi, the Chinese is too tired to continue playing in the competitive Dota 2 scene.
In addition to his intentions in the near future, Kaka also talked about how Royal Never Give Up survived the coronavirus at The International 2022. According to the Chinese esportsman, everything happened quite quickly. The team mid-leader Somnus丶M felt great the day before his infection, and the next morning his condition deteriorated sharply. He spent the first map against PSG.LGD in complete silence, and he couldn't play the second one. After that, the rest of the participants were infected with the exception of xNova.
During the last The International, four Royal Never Give Up players fell ill with the coronavirus, and during the first match of the final stage, only a healthy e-sportsman entered the stage. The other four computers were occupied by teddy bears who kept him company on stage. The players at this time took part in the matches, being in their game rooms in the hotel.
Kaka is one of the most recognizable players in the world of Chinese Dota 2. Hu Liangzhi began his career as a professional player in 2014 under the HyperGlory Team tag, but the player’s first serious achievements came only after 2 years in Newbee. With his new teammates, he lifted the MarsTV Dota 2 League 2015 Winter cup over his head and earned $125,000 with the team.
In 2016, he also took 3rd place at The Manila Major 2016, where he earned $315,000, after which he became the champion of 2 other tournaments, where he earned $338,000 in total. The best results in his career were the second place at The International 2017, earning $3,950,067 with the team, and the fourth position at The International 2021. In the latter, he achieved this result with Invictus Gaming and earned $2,401,000 for the team.
Since April 2022, the esportsman has been performing under the Royal Never Give Up tag. With his teammates, he made it to The International 2022 and took 13-16th place there, rewarding the team with a prize of $283,931. Throughout his career, Kaka has almost made it to the $2,450,000 mark in prize money.
