Evil Geniuses said goodbye to Dota 2 roster
The North American esports organization Evil Geniuses has decided to part ways with its Dota 2 roster. According to the latest rumors, the club is looking to move the division to South America and assemble a new team around former players Thunder Awaken and beastcoast.
It's never easy to say goodbye, especially to a story as long as ours. Thanks to Arteezy, Abed, Nightfall, Cr1t- and Fly for all you've done, from all of us at Evil Geniuses.
Evil Geniuses had mixed results last season. First of all, the team managed to win DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division I and DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division I, as well as get into the top three winners at the end of DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 1: Division I and DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 1: Regional Final.
However, at the same time, the team did not perform well in the international arena. In particular, Evil Geniuses took the last place at ESL One Stockholm 2022, and also failed in the playoffs of PGL Arlington Major 2022. At the last The International 2022, the roster again took 9th-12th place, failing to show itself after an impressive run in the group stage.
As many insiders have previously stated, the North American organization is showing a substantive interest in moving to Latin America, where it is going to sign a roster of former Thunder Awaken and beastcoast players. According to rumors, Wisper, Chris Luck, Pakazs, Matthew and Pandaboo will get into the new Evil Geniuses roster.
