Why did Virtus.pro's CS: GO roster have a drop in performance? YEKINDAR replied
Recently, Marek 'YEKINDAR' Galinskis gave an interview to RuHub studio, where he talked about why Virtus.pro's results began to deteriorate after the end of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2021. According to the esportsman, one of the main problems of VP lies in their weak map pool.
After Katowice, thoughts began to emerge about certain problems that seemed important to us, but we began to forget some other things. The mappool stopped updating - we started having drawdowns for terrorists on different maps. Plus there were health problems - for example, with my back. Because of this, a lot of training time was devoted to other things. It was difficult to combine all this and refresh somehow. And now we are training, already for RMR we are trying to prepare all the cards and show our maximum.
YEKINDAR also noted the positive features of the new Ancient map, which replaced Train in the competitive pool:
I play a lot at Ancient - four times a day at FACEIT. It can be seen that the card is good and has potential. It's really pleasant for me to play on it, the rest of the cards are already boring if it's not a practice. Ancient has good potential, you just need to remove certain corners and make it more compact so that there is no such thing as an enemy on every corner. While you are checking all these corners, you may have problems with timing. So I consider it a CT card - all zones are very well controlled by the defense.
At the moment, Virtus.pro are taking part in the EPIC CIS League Spring 2021. In the group stage, VP began their journey by defeating K23. This allowed the team to reach the top matches of the second round.
