Apeks signed jkaem
Apeks announced on their Twitter account that they have entered into a contract with jkaem. According to Joakim 'jkaem' Mirbostad, the esportsman was already thinking about returning to his homeland, and after the announcement of the dissolution of 100 Thieves, these intentions became even more obvious. Now he has come to what he had been going for a long time - the player returned to his homeland.
According to jkaem, Apeks made an offer that was too good to refuse. Nevertheless, according to Joakim, the decisive factor in joining Apeks was not the tempting offer from the club, but the desire of the players to contribute to the development of the Norwegian esports scene.
Jkaem's previous team was 100 Thieves. On October 12, representatives of the club announced the closure of the CS: GO division. The team finished playing at Intel Extreme Masters New York 2020 Online North America, taking 2nd place there, and emerged from under the wing of an esports organization. The official version of the dissolution of the roster was the incomprehensible situation with the tournaments caused by the coronavirus pandemic. According to some insiders, the 100 Thieves management simply wanted to get rid of unnecessary costs, and the named reason is nothing more than a fictional reason. At the same time, the owner of the club reported that his plans were to keep the championship squad, and not a team with unsatisfactory results.
The Apeks roster with the arrival of jkaem looks like this:
- Joachim 'jkaem' Mirbustad
- Dennis 'dennis' Edman
- Ole 'Marcelious' Christian Langan
- Sander 'Grusarn' Iversen
- Martin 'Nasty' Garwick
